Performance Based Navigation (PBN) Training Course

Castle Air Academy runs Performance Based Navigation (PBN) training courses at our state-of-the-art, purpose-built facility at Gloucestershire Airport.
Since August 2020, those who hold an EASA IR are required to complete a PBN course if they wish to fly IFR/IMC. Qualifying results in PBN being entered into the IR holder’s licence, meaning the candidate is able exercise the privileges of this rating on any helicopter. Successful pilots are given permission to fly PBN (GNSS) approaches and PBN routes.

We are proud to have passed our PBN audit by the CAA and PBN is now included in all Castle Air Academy IR courses. It is also available to book separately as a paid course if required. PBN is a two-day course and full ground school is included.
